The Ipex fair in Birmingham just closed its doors and Plockmatic can again show very positive results. Despite the threat from the Islandic volcano ash cloud the attendance was very good and we are very pleased that our efforts to focus on the fastest growing segment today, the mid/light production segment pays off. The traffic in our own booth exceeded our expectations and our new distributor in the UK, Muro Digital, reported a high interest from new dealers and end users and reported that most of the exhibited equipment was sold.
Xerox launched their new Colour press 800/1000, a very competent colour printer for the high end of the digital print segment. Our new online solution, the Pro 30 booklet maker, was shown at prime position in the Xerox stand with the colour press 800/1000 and the feedback from customers and Xerox personnel was very encouraging.
In our own stand we showed our reliable mailing system with the new reader for OMR together with the new intuitive 10” colour touch screen. The user interface was creating a lot of interests and the reactions were overwhelming. Together with the OMR reader we also showed the new high capacity bin which increases the capacity for one bin to 700 sheets.
In the Ricoh stand we had our successful BK5010e booklet maker online with a ProC900 also in that configuration we showed the 2-knife trimmer from SDD. That configuration raised a lot of interest and we got very positive feedback from customers. New in the Ricoh stand was the launch of their new ProC720, a smaller version of their large colour printer ProC900. Plockmatic also had another BK5010e in the Ricoh stand inline with their B/W production printer the Pro135.
